How RAW to JPG works here

Every camera saves a ready-made JPEG preview inside its RAW file: it’s what you see on the camera’s screen, with the camera’s colours and picture style applied. We take that preview out and save it as a JPG, on your device. It’s quick, needs no RAW software, and looks like the photo you saw when you took it.

Most cameras store a full-size preview. A few older models store a smaller one. Either way, the size is shown before you save.

Supported RAW formats

DNG (Adobe, iPhone ProRAW, Google Pixel, Leica and others), CR2 (Canon), NEF (Nikon), ARW (Sony), RAF (Fujifilm) and RW2 (Panasonic Lumix). Mix them in one batch.

Questions

Can I do this without a website?

Usually. On a Mac, Photos and Preview open most RAW files and can export JPEG. On Windows 11, the Photos app opens many RAW files once the free Raw Image Extension is installed from the Microsoft Store. Camera makers also offer free desktop apps. This page needs nothing installed and works on a phone.

Can I adjust exposure or white balance?

Not here. You get the camera’s own JPEG, with the settings you shot with. To edit the RAW data itself, use a RAW editor such as your camera maker’s free app, Lightroom or darktable.

Does it work with Canon CR3 files?

Not yet. CR3 uses a different layout and isn’t supported yet.

Are my RAW files uploaded anywhere?

No. RAW files are big, and they never leave your device. Everything happens in your browser, even in airplane mode.
